Past Events: January 2009

On January 15, Rocky Mountain HRPS held another very successful program. Thank you to our speakers, Brian Wilkerson and Laury Sejen from Watson Wyatt, and thank you to all of you who attended.

If you didn't make it to the program, here is a small sample of some of the precious insights that you missed, just to tantalize you!
  • As of December, 93% of the companies Watson Wyatt surveyed reported that they expected recent economic events to affect their HR programs.
  • Given challenges in the job market, companies are having less difficulty than last year retaining employees (for now), but they are still experiencing challenges around attracting critical skill employees.
  • Even with less funding for incentive plans, the more successful companies find ways to differentially reward the highest performers.
  • The reasons employees join or leave a company differ greatly among low-performing, high-performing, and top-performing employees.
  •  Performance management processes are trending toward simpler, more aligned processes focused on meaningful performance discussions.
